A collaborative table-top discussion was convened by the Department of Energy (DOE), the Philippine Solar and Storage Energy Alliance (PSSEA), the Association of Solar Installers of the Philippines (ASIP), and other renewable-energy developers to address the country’s growing power supply challenges. With Visayas and Mindanao projected to reach critical supply levels within the next two years, the discussion focused on accelerating solar-energy deployment by reviewing existing policies, regulations, and permitting processes. Key agenda items included identifying regulatory bottlenecks, streamlining national and local government requirements, and developing more efficient, investor-friendly pathways to fast-track solar-energy projects while ensuring compliance, safety, and system reliability.
